Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona, SPAIN) is offering a research fellowship for 1 year to work in the research project “Development of a non-invasive breath test for early diagnosis of tropical diseases” funded by the European Commission under the H2020-MSCA-RISE-2014 program.
The research activity will focus on the identification of breath volatile biomarkers of three tropical diseases (Hydatidosis, Leishmaniasis and Dengue) by thermal desorption-gas-chromatography-mass spectrometry.
- Education level: Master degree in analytical chemistry, chemometrics, (bio)informatics, or a related field.
- Experience in development and validation of analytical methods.
- Experience in gas-chromatography-mass spectrometry.
- Starting date: 1/05/2015
- Salary: approx. 1140 â‚¬/month (net amount)

The selected candidate will be offered the possibility to enroll in the PhD program in “Technologies for Nanosystems, Bioengineering and Energy” from Rovira i Virgili University. In this case, the selected candidate together with the host research group will apply for additional funding in order to complete his/her PhD thesis.
